Research interests related to the TDC
  • Have the chance to exchange approaches for Experimental Service Life Design, based on testing
  • As developer of a non-destructive test method to measure the coefficient of air-permeability (Swiss Standard SIA 262/1-E:2003), I am interest to discuss its suitability for the aims of TC-TDC. Since the method is applicable to recently finished and aged structures alike, it should reflect the effect environmental and mechanical loads have on the permeability of the concrete cover (e.g. pore structure, cracks, etc.)
  • As a result of my past and present activities in RILEM TCs, I have a considerable amount of literature on test methods, mainly applicable on site, to measure the “penetrability” of the concrete cover. I already have an Annotated Bibliography on the test method I developed, with about 100 publications worldwide
  • At the moment, partly fulfilling a commitment of TC 230-PSC, I have been working on modeling service life based on non-destructive experimental determination of cover depth and air-permeability on site
  • I may act as liaison between TC-TDC and TC 230-PSC, if nobody is fulfilling that role so far
I intend to co-operate primarily in the following group during the initial phase:
