Brief Curriculum Vitae

Zuquan Jin is a professor of Civil Engineering in Qingdao University of Technology, visiting lecture in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering, University College London. He received PH.D degree in Material Sciences from Southeast University under the supervision of Professor Sun Wei in 2006. And He had worked in Institute of Oceanology of Chinese Academy of Sciences as a postdoctor for 2 years under the supervision of Professor Hou Baorong. He was awarded Young Teacher Prize of the Fok Ying-tung Foundation, and Yong Science & Technology Award of Qingdao. Prof Jin’s research interests mainly focus on corrosion and protection of reinforced concrete in marine environment. He is executive vice director of Discipline Development Office of Qingdao University of Technology, he is also executive vice director of Concrete Technology in marine environment Engineering Research Center, Ministry of Education. He is vice secretary-general of Protection and Repair Special Commission, Chinese Construction Commission. And he is also the editorial board member of ‘Journal of Civil, Architectural & Environmental Engineering’. He has four projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation and a sub-project of National 973 Program. He was awarded first prize and second prize of Ministry of Education Natural Science, Scientific and Technological Progress award, respectively. And He was also gained the Shandong Province Scientific and Technological Progress Award first prize and second prize. Prof. Jin was also awarded Shandong province teaching achievement first prize and second prize due to his excellent contributions to teaching works and research.

Research interests related to the TC 281-CCC WG4

My group’s studies will mainly focus on the effect of bending loads on the carbonation resistance of concretes with mineral admixtures including fly ash and GGBS. And the service life prediction modeling of reinforced concrete attacked by carbonation combined with bending load will be proposed.
